Education.Left School at 14 years of age. First job Cleaners Shop in Camberwell Green 1939.Went to Night School to learn Short hand and Typing. then into an Office but bored,decided to help War effort so a Toy Factory named Lines was making Sten Gun cases , So a Spot Welder I became untill I Joined land Army at 17 years old went to Cornwall Milking Cows, Muck spreading, and various other Farm Jobs. Had to leave {Farmer???} Old enough now to Join W A A Fs trained as a Teleprinter oiperater Stationed in Cranwell Linconshire. after training ,sent to Northern Ireland where I spent next three Years Signals Section Dundonald as LACW Eaton . Married had children fostered childrenlearnt how more from children and their needs,and luckily got teken on as a carer in a Childrens Home in Wandsworth .What a lovely Man who Run That Home ,this was the 70.s. I was later to find out when I became a relief in varous Homes just how bad some were??? Homes got closed "not Good"I I then saw advert for a Family Care Worker needed in Merton. and got the Job with an interview only. Working with Families in need ,such as Mum in Hospital? Dad in Prison. Mum depressed.children in care. Young Mums who needed help with Baby care. Could work with Social Workers as i was able to get closer to the situation in the Home. Pity we do not have this sytem now.Retired from this at 67. Went to work in Elderly Person home at 69 for 18 months many of them younger than me ,so I got younger?? This is the sum total of my education ,all down to experience and some luck. Worked hard, enjoyed most of it. wish I had the opotunities most people have today, Bad that Money is stopping so many from getting there chance. Anyway I have written it now so had better let someone read it and give them hope that it can be down to Experience that you find your way.
