Having just completed the BA (Hons) Graphic Design at the University for the Creative Arts, from which I graduated with first class honours, and subsequently accepted on the MSt History of Design at the University of Oxford, I am seeking employment relevant to my continuing education.Despite my degree being creative my preference was, and still is, academia, hence the transition from a primarily practice-based undergraduate degree to an academic postgraduate degree. I am an autodidactic learner, and I enjoy research enormously, both primary and secondary, preferring a ‘boots on the ground’ approach, and my time spent in university libraries and archive centres has made me familiar with catalogue searching and the handling of special collections and rare materials.I am proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, and I am well-versed in the use of Microsoft Office. My writing and grammatical skills are of a very high standard. I am familiar with social media, having managed the company accounts of past employers, and now my own online presence. My previous employment has equipped me to deal with demanding and complex situations, which has resulted in exceptional time management skills, skills which have proven extremely beneficial during my time both at university and at work. I am equally content to work by myself and with others, having worked in both small businesses, as I do now in which I am one of just three employees, and for larger companies in which I was part of a team of thirty people, with my time in the hospitality industry moulding me in to an excellent team player and communicator. My two career paths, in hospitality and tattooing, have equipped me to deal with high-pressure scenarios, and fast-paced work environments. I am also a fastidious note-taker, which impacts positively on my ability both to take instruction and work from initiative.
