Profile bio

About Trystan Lackner

I am looking for opportunities to make change in a positive and impactful way. I went to the University of Toronto where I completed my BA in International Development and found a passion for issues pertaining to youth, security, environment, technology, disaster relief and construction. As I learned more about these issues, I participated in many rallies hosted by Development and Peace as well as local Youth Councils. I pursued volunteer opportunities with Youth Challenge International to develop a seminar for youth to educate and inspire them in the community to learn more about how Food and Climate Change interact. More so, through various other internships and my long career with the Whitby Public Library, I have helped run events and projects either led by myself or colleagues. In time, I honed my abilities to focus on the finer details, work alongside others or independently and be adaptable when others needed me. I believe my experiences working in office settings, as well as hands on in the dirt, gives me a wide range of environments that I am capable of working in. Additionally, being a liaison between government officials and the community, while developing strong analytical skills throughout, has provided me with solid knowledge and diplomacy skills to be able to work in a variety of organizations and businesses. I have always had a passion for participating in initiatives that preserve our future, as shown by my current and past volunteer and work history. I am not afraid of a challenge and am quick to learn any additional skills that may be needed for the position. If given the opportunity, I will strive for success in every avenue. I believe that I am able to provide insight, adaptability and drive to any team I am a part of.

Listed skills include International Development, Sustainable Development, Youth Leadership, Food Security, and 9 others.
