Audio Engineer
CurrentFollowing a rebranding to develop my professional profile, I have continued to work with artists and film-makers on their musical projects, while furthering my network into the film world. For film projects, I have been able to provide services ranging from on-location sound recording, to film scoring, to full dubbing mixes. This allows be to both see projects through from conception to completion with full sonic cohesion, and to fit into a team of film-makers to fulfil my part of a project on time, on budget and above expectations. On set, I have been an efficient member of the crew, working studiously myself and working closely with other departments to ensure that the audio I have recorded has been as high quality as possible without impeding on the rest of the team 'getting the shot'.In post-production, I have dealt with large projects by applying methodical systematic workflows to efficiently polish every detail of a film, while affording myself the room to be creative with the sound design. This has allowed me to realise the visions cultivated with the directors/producers that I have worked alongside, often with tight time-scales and low budgets. In the music world, I continue to work with artists to translate their ideas into reality, both in the studio and on location. This involves unreserved exchanges of ideas, followed be the technical experience to realise the vision.Lockdowns afforded me the opportunity to mix large bands and choirs in remote recording format. This meant assembling dozens of home-recorded performances into one polished piece. To do this, I worked closely with the groups in the pre-production stages to ensure that the performers were given ideal conditions to perform their parts as if they were with the full group, but at home. I also worked with both the original sheet music and the groups' musical directors to ensure the piece sounded as it should. Teamwork and communication were front and centre during otherwise isolated times.
