Promoted to a Senior Software Test Engineer on the greater Software Test and Quality (STaQ) team. Maintained all of my prior responsibilities, plus:Designed and implemented a Python Behave functional test suite to test a brand new REST API to facilitate communication with and control of the Impinj RFID readers.Developed a stand-alone Python package that creates an object model for interfacing with our readers. This project was designed to be polymorphic so that it can work the same way with our different reader types. The project is also used across multiple test teams and projects, so proper communication and branch management for breaking changes was required.Created a long-running test suite using the Nameko microservice framework that exercises our readers indefinitely and monitors the state of the reader to ensure the long-term health and stability of our products.Started work developing a test suite focused on assuring reliability in our various reader firmware upgrade processes.Assisted in migrating firmware and test repositories from Atlassian Bitbucket to GitHub. This included converting all of our automation jobs from Bamboo to GitHub Actions.

Spectra logic develops deep storage tape and disk technologies, intended for long term data storage. I work at Spectra as part of a small team in charge of creating and managing multiple fully automated test suites to run against Spectra Logics new technologies. We use Ruby and Cucumber to create a quick regression smoke test that we use to run against every single new code build given to us from the Development team. We also use Java to create our own test suite that is designed to be a long running test, with the intention of simulating normal customer use of our products. I was also in charge of setting up and managing several different Jenkins CI servers that would run our automated tests on set time intervals and after new code releases.I routinely participate in peer code reviews, and a daily standup meeting with the development and testing team. I also participated in several Spectra 'demo days' where we would internally display some of the products we were developing to other Spectra associates in different departments.

Working as part of a team that is currently developing new code and refactoring and building JUnit test cases for a legacy system for the Total Irradiance Monitor (TIM), an instrument on the NASA sponsored SORCE and TCTE satellite missions, and the future TSIS mission. Programming is mainly in java for this project, with a good amount of c shell and bash scripting. A lot of the scientific data visualization at LASP is done in IDL.Additionally, I worked on project organization and adding entire test coverage for both the NASA MAVEN and MMS (Magnetosphere Multiscale) missions. These two projects have a few shared libraries, and are ran in python. I spend a lot of time setting up contunious integration and automated testing for the missions using Jenkins.We frequently used Sybase, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases for these projects.
