One day, his father said to him "Go check the hives and make sure the covers are in place, storms are moving in tonight." So my first boss went, checked the covers, and proudly reported back that they were all in place. His father then asked "How were the honey levels looking?" Unfortunately, my first boss did not check the honey levels while he was there and bashfully replied "I don't know."This was the story my first boss told me on my first day of work with him when I was young, and I still think of it to this day, some 30 years later. A simple kind of wisdom that helps steer my ship.
