My primary duties involve collaborating with architects, contractors, and stake holders to ensure that all mechanical and electrical systems meet project requirements, comply with building codes and safety regulations, and stay within budget and timeline constraints.I oversee the entire project life cycle, from design development to final construction, and I manage a team of engineers to ensure that all work is completed efficiently and accurately. I also conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure that all work is progressing as planned and identify any potential issues that may arise. My biggest accomplishments were, leading engineering teams to obtain the fire compliance from the Fire Service Department, the energisation approval from the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the electricity distribution licence from the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL). As a member of the team responsible for designing Fire Command Centres, I collaborated with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the fire command centres were designed to meet the specific needs of each building. I contributed to the development of the Cause-and-Effect Matrix of the Fire System, which involved analysing the various elements of the fire system and how they interact with each other. This helped to ensure that the fire system was designed to be as effective and efficient as possible.Overall, my experience as a Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineer has allowed me to develop strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, as well as a deep understanding of the importance of meeting project requirements and deadlines while ensuring safety and compliance.
