This was through groups and individuals working closely with the district structures. •Provided mentorship, timely and focused technical support to eight (8) task-shifted social workers who in turn provided support to community structures most notably the Village Health Teams. •Designed and facilitated MHPSS training and ongoing supervision to build the capacity of field staff and district structures to deliver quality MHPSS services, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period where I trained and supervised district staff in Northern Uganda and Karamoja regions.•Trained and supervised the application and implementation of Problem Management Plus (PM+) both individual and group by the task-shifted social workers. •Conducted team building and staff wellness activities for the project staff due to the sensitivity of the work. This was to avoid stress and vicarious trauma while also enabling the team to grow in understanding and practicability of the psychological intervention concepts and their application. •Developed and implemented feasible ways to handle addiction clients within the districts of operation working closely with the district hospitals and also emphasising and strengthening follow-up even after their discharge. •Contributed to project design and reporting processes providing technical input. -
Clinical PsychologistTpo Uganda - Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Jan 2019 - Dec 2019Uganda, Arua•Mastered the delivery of group CBT-T to communities and built capacities of task-shifted staff (social workers and clinical interns) on the UNHCR (ten staff), CORDAID (three staff), and UNWOMEN (three staff) projects in the Arua field office(Rhino camp, Omugo settlement, Imvepi settlement and Lobule settlement) on the delivery of CBT-T, PFA, case management/ referral system of TPO Uganda and use of clinical tools for assessment of clients. There was a demonstration of knowledge among these different staff on the screening exercise and the ability to administer the tools to the clients ethically and run groups. •Conducted MHPSS, PFA, and PSS training to health workers, community structures and other organisations. There was a knowledge increment evidenced by the increase in the number of referrals made to clients to access mental health services of TPO Uganda by these service providers.•Conducted team building and staff wellness activities for the project staff due to the sensitivity of the work.
