As an outdoor service personnel member at "bag drop," I was the first person many golfers saw each time they visited the Robert Trent Jones Grand National golf course. I would meet and greet people as they arrived to make them feel as welcome as possible. I would ask if they needed assistance in any way, such as general questions about the course, carrying bags, renting clubs, assigning golf carts, and starting them at their tee time. At the end of their round, I would offer to clean their clubs, ferry them to their cars, or carry their bags. I was also tasked with cleaning and charging carts after use, picking up golfballs on the driving range with a tractor, and shutting down the golf course each night.

During the summer before my senior year, my high school employed and granted me a scholarship to volunteer at The Salvation Army's Magness Potter Community Center in Nashville, TN. There I built relationships with kids and staff from a completely different cultural background than my own. My days consisted of organizing games and events, leading group projects, and teaching young kids about various subjects. This included a class in music, a longtime passion of mine, where we wrote and produced a song that spoke against bullying others. In my time there, I developed leadership and team-work skills day by day as I set a good example and mentored kids of the next generation.
