Machine learning for DNA-encoded library (DEL) data

- Deduced the space of odorant molecules and the rules governing olfactory perceptions using artificial neural networks (ICML '19).- Modeled motivational behaviors using deep reinforcement learning (Frontiers '21).- Studied the constraints for olfactory map development using Monte Carlo methods.- Built a high-performance computing (GPU) server for the lab.

- Education: planned a 2-day workshop in Programming in Biology to post-baccalaureate students at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research; instructor for QB boot camp and Girls Who Code.- Science communication: conveyed the importance of basic research and ongoing CSHL projects through walking tours to a broad audience.

- Organized workshops at CSHL to help students and postdocs learn about and transition to careers in biotech, science policy, non-profit, and finance, etc. - Led a team of students and postdocs to organize Beyond the Bench, a one-day career development symposium with close to 200 attendees. The symposium featured Dr. Jennifer Doudna as the keynote speaker and 17 industry professionals as panelists.

- Develop assays aimed at suppressing miRNA-based off-targeting in genome-wide siRNA screens. Establish the predictive power of siRNA screening for miRNA binding and transcript control.- Invited talk at the Keystone meeting on MicroRNAs and Noncoding RNAs in Cancer.- Poster prize winner for Developmental Biology and Genetics session at ABRCMS.

- Investigated the role of PKA-dependent phosphorylation of calcium channels (polycystin-2 and ryanodine receptor) in polycystic kidney disease in mouse models.
