Workshop Facilitator, Problem Solving Process & Question DesignerÇalıştay (Unified Understanding Workshop) Jul 1996 - PresentMaltepe, İstanbul, TürkiyeIn 1994, Mr. Tuğrul Fadıllıoğlu handed me a book, "7MP Tools: Managing Quality and Efficiency" prepared in JUSE in edition of Shigeru Mizuno. This was the starting point.Since 92 I had read all major books in quality management but in 94 I focussed on problem solving. Dedicated a full 8 months to learn and practice problem solving tools and together a team of volunteers working with me an afternoon each week. I am deeply thankful to my manager Mr. Regaip Baran and to may friends for believing and supporting me.I presented my findings in 1996 quality congress, in a session managed by Prof. İbrahim Kavrakoğlu, one of the leaders in Turkish Quality movement. In 1997, realizing people didn't have much time, opportunity and commitment to excel in problem solving skills, decided to develop a new method with the name "Platform Model", the early name of Çalıştay Method.The workshops I practiced in Turkish Naval Forces (benchmarking US Navy) and Turkish Society for Quality unto 2000 proved to me that I was on the wright direction. Within Turkish Naval Forces chosen as the sole expert of 7MP tools in Turkey, I carried more than 30 workshops during their first and second quality initiatives I am grateful to Mr. Sabri Çiğdem and Viktor Sidi from IDEA for supporting me.KalDer, Turkish Society for Quality's expert groups were an other important milestone. I am grateful to Mr. Tuncer Köklü, board member of KalDer for requesting me to support and mobilize these teams. Twice one day meeting with 16 expertise groups have been very fruitful. In addition "total quality in education" and ""Total quality in NGOs" Çalıştays created major reputation while we have found during a brainstorming session the name of Çalıştay together with Erol İnelmen.The first today's Çalıştay has been realized in December 2000 in Tırsan Trailer Company. I am grateful to Mr. Çetin Nuhoğlu for believing and supporting to me and my new method.
