This role requires me to install, setup and maintain servers (Dell PowerEdge and HP Proliant), both in-house and externally in the datacentre in Newton-Le-Willows. In this role I have developed administration skills in server software including SQL Server, Hyper-V and Coldfusion, together with associated hardware including data backup devices and storage arrays. I have also maintained, upgraded and supported individual workstations (variety of HP and Dell desktops and laptops) and printers (Xerox) throughout the organisation. This has often involved out of hours/remote on-call support. Desktop support has been given to users via email, phone and in person at their desk.Key Achievements and Projects: • Migration of 27 physical servers into Hyper-V virtual machines to improve resilience and performance of systems due to outdated hardware• Seamless migration of live environments to updated hardware and software with minimal disruption to normal business• Data recovery after failed server hardware • Deputised for the team manager whilst he was away
