Duties included management of the Service and Production departments, including the technical support call center, as well as product procurement and inventory management. Also designed and administrated the company’s in-house information systems, using a combination of Windows and Linux hosts serving Windows clients.●Consolidated four NT4 servers, including one running Exchange 5, to a single Windows 2003 server running Exchange 2003, MS-SQL 2000, and IIS 6. A few years later, an Exchange 2007 server was added to the farm.●Assisted in the design and implementation of a heavily customized off the shelf product for use as the main line of business application, consisting of a MS-SQL back end and a Java and ASP-based front end. ●Oversaw the migration from a home-grown Access database, including service histories and product configurations for over 3000 customers, to the new line of business application.●Trained all employees on use of the new line of business application.●Developed and oversaw implementation of business processes and procedures for the sales and service pipelines. ●Determined hardware requirements for products and developed vendor relationships for procurement. ●Oversaw the company’s network security. Moved from Linksys NAT device to Adtran firewall/router. Migrated from Symantec Anti-Virus to Sunbelt VIPRE Enterprise and VIPRE Email Security for Exchange.●Developed master software images for the company’s voicemail products.

Duties included computer hardware and software troubleshooting, design and implementation of small to medium sized local area networks (using Microsoft, Novell, and Lantastic networking), wide area network connections, and helped maintain Progressive Technologies Internet Service Provider business (now Badger Internet). Also oversaw PC production department. Production department duties included training production personnel, testing and selecting components for use in production, devising and implementing building and testing procedures, and troubleshooting problems in the production line.
