Working as a semi-senior in the Corporate Services team both leading and assisting on audits, producing statutory accounts for various local businesses. Also seconded for 3 months to the Audit Commission, assisting on audits for local government and healthcare trusts.Involved in the whole process of accounts preparation from receiving the client records to the completed financial statements. In addition to this, assisting in the preparation of VAT returns, management accounts, cash-flow forecasts and business planning.Vital experience gained from working in the tax and payroll departments and being seconded to work for several clients to assist with bookkeeping and management accounts.

Sabbatical Officer with responsibility for Finance, Commercial Services, Democracy. Tasks included setting and monitoring budgets for the multi-million turnover company, producing monthly management accounts, ensuring nightclub and bars were run efficiently, writing the Annual Report and coordinating Student Council, Elections and the AGM. During this time I also overhauled a number of the key financial processes in place to make them more streamlined. I brought in a new Financial Controller, accounts package and upgraded a number of systems that had been in placed for 20 years.
