Microsoft Azure - Applied Artificial Intelligence - AI Cloud PlatformWe write the global platform/infrastructure for Azure's AI offering which enables 10's of thousands of machines across the globe to process various AI workloads from speech-to-text translation, sentiment analysis, to object detection and computer vision tasks. These algorithms and models present a unique, compute-heavy and storage-heavy resource management problem in the cloud.Duties:- Developed deployment infrastructure across 30,000+ machines serving over 10 billion requests/month across 36 regions around the world with 99.999% SLA. Included release strategy + process improvements to reduce bugs and improve confidence in deployment payloads.- Maintained sensitive secrets at rest and in-flight including process definition around certificate rotations and security best practices for keys and identities.- Capacity management: developed processes and tools to ensure platform had enough resources in specific regions around the world to serve growing customer base including compute cores, storage and other various cloud/foundational dependencies.- Revenue engine: Solely designed, implemented, operationalized and owned product billing infrastructure. System responsible for generating millions of dollars in monthly revenue reliably for over 4 years across 36 geographic regions. Worked with business planners and financial specialists on data interpretation and cost reduction + revenue improvements on behalf of engineering team.

A continuation of SpareChange which was acquired by Roundit Financial Technologies in late 2017. Responsibilities include translating business strategy into a concrete product end-to-end including large-scale RESTful web services (design, implementation, operations) built in C# on Microsoft Azure, native cross-platform apps on iOS and Android (C#, Xamarin), engineering infrastructure (automated builds, distribution, testing, telemetry and alerting in Azure DevOps) and business operations (tooling implementation and processes).

Lead designer and developer for StarExec, a web-based service for computational logic solver communities. The system allows communities to manage benchmarks, solvers and community membership as well as execute solver/benchmark pairs on a large cluster hosted at The University of Iowa. This project is funded by a $1.9 million grant from the National Science Foundation.
