I am an observability specialist with experience leading architecture and implementation for scalable observability and alerting solutions supporting enterprise software with millions of users worldwide. In 2016, I joined Salesforce where I led a global team as product owner for our cloud-native open source observability platform built on Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana on Kubernetes. In 2023, I joined the Salesforce Industries organization to drive Availability and Observability in collaboration with Development, Quality, Performance, and Support teams within the various Industries verticals.As a Technology Architect at Cerner, I architected and managed a monitoring solution built on Oracle Enterprise Manager. My areas of expertise include automation and design of extensible platforms for analytics and self-healing. I am a past member of Oracle’s Enterprise Manager Customer Advisory Board, and I have delivered conference presentations at Oracle Open World (3x) and Cerner’s DevCon (2x).

I joined a scrum team formed to modernize Salesforce’s alerting platform during rapid growth, and was later promoted to more strategic roles as the platform transformed to a more scalable cloud-native, database agnostic solution.I initially designed and implemented an observability platform built on Oracle Enterprise Manager featuring high availability and robust disaster recovery capabilities, responsible for processing >1M alerts each year. This platform had self-healing features and went through four major release upgrades. In 2019, efforts to modernize the platform to ensure scalability and reduce OEM reliance led to my architecting and implementing a new vision for observability as a cloud-native, open-source platform built on Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana on Kubernetes. As Product Owner, I led the product strategy, roadmap, and a six-member globally distributed team. The platform has resulted in significant cost-to-serve savings and improved availability from 99.3% to 99.999%. Features include wallet authentication, connection pooling, Prometheus-friendly compatibility checks, and Grafana dashboards used by several organizations.

While in this role I implemented operational intelligence using adaptive metrics and time-based dimensions, developed self-healing/auto-corrective actions, and published monthly analytics with dashboards built on EM, Vertica, Tableau, and IBM Streams. I also set standards and processes for Oracle EM.
