What gets me out of bed in the morning? Well, my alarm. But more importantly – my genuine love and passion working with data every single day. I enjoy solving complex problems with data and logic through my statistical knowledge, strong educational background in business analytics and data science, and four years of coding experience in R, SQL, and Python. I am currently a data scientist at Verizon on the Financial Planning and Analysis (FPAS) team. My previous background involves two summers interning at Milliman IntelliScript, where I gained valuable industry experience creating SQL queries and developing Microsoft Power BI dashboards to drive business insights on actuarial-related data. I also have vast philanthropic experience through Penn State THON, the largest student-run dance marathon in the world, which raises millions every year to fight childhood cancer. I leveraged R and Excel to build seasonal forecasts and enhance financial reporting, doubling the merchandise store’s profits in 1 year. When I’m not hunched over my laptop tinkering on a machine learning model or troubleshooting a nefarious bug in my code, I like to spend my free time running, obsessively watching Penn State sports, investing, playing basketball or racquetball, and collecting funky socks.
