Mission from MaRS is a pan-Canadian climate impact challenge that aims to accelerate the adoption of climate-tech solutions we have today. MaRS will be identifying the most-promising ventures with technologies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, then working closely with them to help remove barriers that have slowed their commercial growth.

Responsible for strengthening relations with investors, corporates, relevant government departments, innovation organizations and other key stakeholders in the domestic and international cleantech community. Acting as a critical link between Canada's growing pool of high-potential cleantech companies and those in a position to accelerate the growth and adoption of homegrown innovation. In this role, led the creation of the MaRS VC Syndicate, a select group of North American venture capital firms working closely with MaRS to enhance the flow of capital to promising Canadian tech ventures. Also co-led the creation of the Women In Cleantech Challenge, which later in 2021 will transform into a permanent Accelerator program to support women entrepreneurs tackling climate and environmental problems with technological innovation.

Climate change is happening. I wrote about how it is impacting and is expected to impact the Canadian economy and society, and how we can transition to a low-carbon economy. This reporting project was part of a partnership between the Toronto Star and Tides Canada in the lead-up to the Paris climate conference, which I was fortunate enough to attend.
