Led project and iOS architecture of “app lock” feature to require authentication to open the app. Collaborated with backend engineers to define and debug network APIs. Collaborated with core platform teams to resolve data sync issues we encountered. Provided guidance and feedback to integrate new networking library used on the Square side of the house.

Created the networking library that now powers all of Square’s point of sale and Cash’s iOS apps, reducing network latencies, improving success rates of network requests, enabling logging and analysis of networking metrics, and enabling deprecation of non–HTTP/2 endpoints. Upstreamed the heap implementation from that library to Apple’s Swift Collections library.Maintained Workflow architecture library and led migrations in codebases when breaking changes were made to library.Helped migrate the core Point of Sale app to new design language. Built out new library of UI components in Swift. Built library to quickly and consistently handle form-based user input that allows engineers to focus on the content instead of the presentation. Built out infrastructure to allow our point of sale apps to adopt Dynamic Type.

iOS Rider app architect. Drove several major refactoring projects, primarily in the Rider app, that improved reliability and enabled feature expansion. Provided guidance to Eats team to enable them to integrate into the Rider app. Reviewed architecture proposals across mobile and backend services. Part of core team that rewrote the Rider app in Swift. Rewrote the Apple Watch app.
