IN GREENFIELD EXPLORATION PROJECTS (SCOPING STUDIES) TO PRE-FEASIBILITY & FEASIBILITY STUDIES PROJECTS IN PNG...; include:Doing near mine geotechnical or engineering bore hole/permeability tests (falling head test, packer test, con penetration test, etc)Supervision of near mine infrastructure drilling for roads, bridges, airstrips, tunnels, dams, buildings, etc. Standard penetration tests (SPT) done on soils (clay, silt, sand, etc)Drill core logging (resource, geotechnical/engineering logging)Drill rig supervision in liaison with drillers and other subcontractors Data entry and validations Geotech or engineering drill core sampling for (tri-axial tests, UCS tests, BT tests, DS tests) Geotech drill core sample preparation to be sent away for lab testsInstallation of vibrating wire piezometer pipes (VWP) and monitoring

BRIEF: INVOLVED IN THE REGIONAL MINERAL RECONNAISSANCE SURVEY OF THE PNG MAINLAND (HIGHLANDS OF PNG). BASIC TASKS INVOLVED GEOLOGICAL MAPPING, GEOCHEMICAL SAMPLING (COLLECTING STREAM SEDIMENTS AND PAN CONCENTRATE). ALSO DID THIN SECTIONS, GEOLOGICAL REPORT WRITING WITH PLOTTING, GENERATING AND INTERPRETING GEOLOGICAL MAPS USING GIS SOFTWARE WHEN IN THE OFFICE. ASSISTED IN LOGISTICAL SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED.
