Seconded from the Treasury as a Private Secretary in the Office of the Minister of Finance, responsible for advising on a range of portfolios with a focus on fiscal and economic strategy, and managing the relationship with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

Led a team that was responsible for Treasury's advice on climate change and a range of topics across economic development policy, with direct line management responsibility for six staff members.

Worked on a range of economic policy related to climate change, economic transition, and commerce and consumer affairs. I also coordinated significant aspects of the Treasury's early advice on the response to COVID-19 in early 2020.Before my study leave in 2018-19, I worked in the Office of the Executive, where I provided advice to the Secretary to the Treasury and senior executive leadership on a range of economic, commercial, and organisational issues as they arose.

I previously worked in the Treasury's Macroeconomic and Fiscal Policy team. Prior to that, I worked across the Immigration, Education and Labour Market portfolios.

I tutored a range of 1st year courses across three years in Critical Thinking, Introductory Ethics and Metaphysics.

Working with Professor Bob Goodin, I undertook research in political philosophy focusing on deliberative democracy and ideal and non-ideal approaches to theories of justice.
