Joined ABB in Sweden in 1983 after receiving a Masters Degree at Chalmers University of Technology. Worked with the design, development and implementation of HVDC thyristor firing control systems. Moved to Wisconsin in 1986 to join the ABB Systems Study Center. Work included HVDC Multi-Terminal master control design for the Quebec-New England Phase II HVDC project. Later assisted in the commissioning activities of the 2000 MW Multi-Terminal HVDC Project.In 1995, accepted a position with ABB’s Substation division in the US as lead project engineer, working on wide range of projects from substations and SVC's for steel mills, to series compensated lines in Chile, to GIS system upgrades in the Grand Caymans, to HVDC Tie links in the US.Presently Director of Engineering for ABB’s Substation group in the US. The position entails managing and coordinating the engineering depart¬ment resources to support substation engineering and design of electrical systems for Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substations up to 500kV.
