Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, provide project management on SPISE initiatives and serve as a think tank for innovation and strategic project management for division priorities.SPISE seeks to leverage the talent of a diverse workforce by utilizing non-traditional engagement methods to foster innovation, creativity, and belonging. SPISE provides strategic project management expertise for achieving division priorities, and serves as an incubator of employee talent in support of the university's mission to discover, preserve, and disseminate knowledge; produce creative work; and promote a culture of broad inquiry throughout and beyond the Cornell community.

Responsibility for overseeing the advancement of the University’s Toward New Destinations (TND) Initiative, leading the University’s Reporting Bias System, as well as determining and implementing other programs, initiatives, and policy/practice modifications in support of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Implements the university bias prevention and Title IX programs, including managing the bias liaisons and leading the Bias Assessment Review Team (BART). Receives, processes, and triages all reported incidents of bias, discrimination, protected-status harassment, and sexual misconduct. Manages all cases, including formal complaints. Implements designated aspects of Title IX gender equity strategic plan in conjunction with the University Title IX Coordinator, and collaborates with Campus Security Authorities on Clery Act reporting. Provides quarterly data to senior leadership and the Department of Education on reported cases under Title IX in compliance with state and federal law.Lead the university’s diversity and inclusion training/education strategy, including the Inclusive Excellence Academy. Develops strong partnerships with the University shared governance groups and other leadership to create policy and develop the most effective approaches to communicate, educate, and otherwise engage the community in impactful dialogue. Identifies opportunities to improve employee diversity and inclusion (particularly for LGBTQ+, women, and underrepresented minorities), and assists with designing, implementing, and evaluating the impact of programs.

Course - NBA 6780: Dialogue Across DifferencesThis course is designed to help MBA/MILR students develop the competencies needed to assume leadership roles in diverse settings. Managing and leading diverse teams is an important skill in our current global landscape. This course, Dialogue Across Differences, takes both an intellectual and affective approach to further understanding of diversity issues and how to approach dialogue around diversity issues.

• Assist in the preliminary research and development of intergroup dialogue course proposal. • Conduct research for corporate workforce diversity strategies. • Develop materials for corporate sponsorship structure and identified corporate prospects. Research grant opportunities. • Provide planning assistance with conferences and speaker series.

Responsible for using a variety of methods, including personal contact and mailings, to build engagement with targeted alumni groups. Manage motivation and recognition for over 100 student callers. Calculate and analyze pledge fulfillment statistics for each calling pool.

Tracked and analyzed cases of employment discrimination and forced arbitration brought before federal courts in preparation for developing federal legislation. Helped prepare materials for upcoming Congressional legislation, including the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Attended Congressional hearings and mark-ups, wrote articles for NELA publications, edited memos and letters, and met with Senators and House members.
