* Provide strategic direction, leadership and overall technical and management support to the Maternal and Child Health Programs/Innovations.* Lead design processes that ensure new or adapted programming for the maternal, child and community health sectors focusing on harmonizing best practices, improved impact and integrated approaches.* Ensure that the MCH program is utilizing standard protocols, policies and guidelines as prescribed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and WHO.* Work collaboratively to integrate MCH with other program sectors where appropriate, particularly with the nutrition, child protection and women’s protection and empowerment programs.* Work in partnership with the Principal Investigator to support aspects of the strategic direction and leadership of the maternal and child health programming guiding linkages and integration within the overall health sector.* Ensure that proposed emergency interventions are guided by the MISP (Minimum Initial Service Package.Facility deliveries, Emergency Obstetric Care (EMOC) or referrals for EMOC, Early neonatal care, Family Planning, Post-Abortion Care, Screening of blood donors and safe blood transfusions,antenatal and post-natal care services;* Manage partnership with prime recipient of key grants; work in collaboration to align donor requirements to MCH best practices; coordinate with finance and monitoring and evaluation units on budget issues and reporting.* Continue to explore and develop new strategies that support adapted maternal and child health programming implemented in emergency settings and camp-based contexts.* Provide strong leadership and guidance for dynamic complex drug and supply management system across multiple program levels to ensure best practices and donor compliance.

* Conduct District Level Gap Analysis as per Government Of India Tools.*Compile, analyse and share reports with concern, District, state and National Officials.*Conduct Block level assessment at regular interval and analyse data for action and sharing relevant report to appropriate authority.*Assist District Health Authorities in uninterrupted supply of drug & logistics for implementation of RMNCH+A Strategy in High Priority Districts.*Provide Assistance to District Health Department and NRHM Programme Management Unit in the planning of RMNCH+A Strategy Action Plan in allotted Districts through District Health Action Plan.*Assist District Health Society for designing of RMNCH+A Activities, work Plan and Budgets.*Magistrate, Senior Health Officials, NRHM Programme Managers and Partner Representatives (and other as needed) at District level and is responsible for programme/project review and follow up on recommendation and agreements.*Participate in Meeting with Mission Director, State Health Officials, NRHM Programme Managers and other representative partners, at state level from time to time and is responsible for programme/project review and follow up on implementation of recommendation and agreements of the state and district monthly RMNCH+A review meeting.*Take part in activities and meeting related to maternal. New Born and child health activities in the district and coordinate with other stakeholders in district.A *Any other task assigned by Supervisor time to time.

The Averting HIV Infections among IDUs (AVHI) project seeks to prevent HIV transmission among IDUs and their sexual partners by providing the comprehensive package of prevention, treatment, and care of HIV in relation to drug use developed by the World Health Organization, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and UNAIDS. The comprehensive response includes needle exchange, HIV counseling and testing, and condom provision for IDUs and their sex partners. The Population Council’s evaluation of AVHI has documented HIV prevalence and incidence among IDUs in Delhi, behavioral correlates of HIV infection, Hepatitis B and C prevalence and their co-infections with HIV, and strategies to recruit IDUs into an HIV prevention intervention. The project is also examining the drug-use behaviors of non-injecting female drug users and implications for health-seeking behaviors. It is the first evaluation of the effectiveness of the recommended comprehensive package of HIV prevention for IDUs in India. The evaluation will provide a more complete evidence base to inform future HIV prevention interventions.AVHI’s findings have been provided to the Government of India in order to help shape national HIV policies and programmatic responses to IDUs. They will also provide lessons learned on the implementation of comprehensive HIV prevention programs.
