With over 20 years of experience in economic research, policy formulation, advocacy and dialogue, I am currently the Director Research at Policy Research Innovation Development and Education (PRIDE), an organization dedicated to promoting evidence-based policy making and economic development in Pakistan. I have a Ph.D. in Economics from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan and a Masters in International and Development Economics from the Australian National University. My professional mission is to provide high quality policy advisory services and generate impactful research on the areas of finance and private sector development, poverty alleviation and human development, and labour and employment, with a focus on developing countries. I have worked with key economic policy making organizations in Pakistan, in positions of progressive responsibility, as well as with the non-profit sector in Pakistan in middle and senior management positions. I have also been engaged in short-term assignments for a number of international organizations. I have published papers on a variety of socio-economic issues, in peer-reviewed journals and regularly write on key economic issues. I possess strong data handling and analysis skills, having worked extensively with large national level household survey datasets.
