• Funplus is a social and mobile gaming startup founded in 2010, with over 5 MM DAU (Daily Active Users) and a valuation of over $1B as of 2014.
• Built the data platform for the company from scratch, currently supporting 8 games with over 5MM DAU (Daily Active Users) and ingesting over 2TB of game data daily.
• Defined the data format and documented the data specification that was implemented by internal and external game teams.
• Developed the data platform using Spark Streaming, Amazon Kinesis, Hadoop MapReduce, Hive, Amazon Redshift, AWS Data Pipeline and Tableau Server.
• Integrated 3rd party data sources for install source attribution and A/B testing.
• Managed all components of the infrastructure on AWS including provisioning, monitoring and scaling. Used bash and python scripts to automate infrastructure tasks.

• Led the client-side engineering team to launch Family Farm Seaside on iOS & Android. It is currently played by 1MM DAU (Daily Active Users).
• Developed the mobile application using C++, Cocos2dx, Java (Android) and Objective-C (iOS). The backend was in PHP.

• The SEM business unit was the largest driver of traffic and profit for Ask.com.
• Led the SEM engineering team to migrate the legacy data infrastructure to a Hadoop platform to increase scalability and mitigate data interruption.
• Developed tools to manage and upload ad campaigns to Google Adwords and Microsoft Bing using Java, Struts 2, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, Quartz, JSP and MySQL.
• Integrated Google Adwords, Google Adsense and Microsoft Bing APIs to deliver campaign spend, revenue and ROI reporting to business analysts.
• Managed all components of the SEM infrastructure on AWS and implemented cross region redundancy to mitigate data interruption to the business.

• Owned development and delivery of Ask.com site features in 2-week release cycles working closely with product owners, QA, Site Reliability and DevOps.
• Led the Site Engineering team. Technologies included Java, JSP, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, HTML, Javascript, CSS and an in-house web framework.
• Launched Ask14, a re-skin of Ask.com aligned with the launch of a new Ask.com Communities product. Moved from an in-house Javascript framework to jQuery.

• Delivered numerous features, enhancements and A/B tests on the Ask.com site.
