I am the Associate Professor Digital Pedagogic Innovation at Anglia Learning and Teaching, Anglia Ruskin University's central learning and teaching unit. As part of the Centre for Innovation in Higher Education (CHE), I am supporting pedagogic research across my institution and lead on institution-wide initiatives such as educational impact studies and research.I graduated from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität, Freiburg, Germany with an M.Ed. in Geography and German (1. Staatsexamen Germanistik & Geographie) and an MSc in Information Technologies and Learning from Lancaster University. I hold a doctorate from the Institute of Education, University College London.I have worked in high schools in the US, Adult Education in Germany and higher education in the Republic of Ireland and the UK and have many years of diverse teaching experiences in education, web and instructional design and (German) language and culture, teaching face-to-face, blended and at a distance. Until June 2019, I taught at postgraduate level in education including the distance learning PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. I currently teach an undergraduate breadth module focusing on interdisciplinarity, sustainability and employability. I also supervise postgraduate dissertations and doctoral students.For more than two decades I have worked as an educational designer and staff developer with specialisms in technology-enhanced, online and distance learning, assessment and feedback, and pedagogic research.I am an ARU University Teaching Fellow, Senior Fellow of the Advance HE and a member of different networks and SIGs (ALT East England, ELESIG, M25 Learning Technology Group).
