It is with great respect for the support of our vast networking community here at LinkedIn that I inform you all that I am retiring from all board directorships and full time consulting work this month (Oct2021) after sustaining a serious back injury recently. I will be undertaking treatment and rehabilitation over the coming months with a determination to make a full recovery if possible. Thank you for your encouragement and support. I will mostly miss our opportunities to work collaboratively towards reconciliation for all Australians and encourage you to actively support treaty processes to deliver successful outcomes with our diverse First Nations here in Queensland. He has a solid working background in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs, cultural heritage and cultural competency training. He is also active as a volunteer in community work and is as a director/committee member on several peak body not-for-profit boards, an elder of the Murri Courts and as an ambassador for the National Indigenous Cancer Network (NICaN). Uncle Bill has formal training as a experienced complexity management practitioner and is a member of Reconciliation Queensland where he supports the work of organisations in hosting reconciliation events, Yarnin' Together learning circles and forums to support development of local and regional reconciliation groups in Queensland. He is actively involved with promoting Reconciliation Action Plans and introducing the “Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Schools and Early Learning” programs for Queensland's Schools and Early Learning Centres.He is the Principal Consultant for Bill Buchanan & Associates (Management Services) and with a small team of associates, assists medium to large organisations in the development, implementation and evaluation of the their Reconciliation Action Plans. This work helps progress reconciliation as a national priority across the five key dimensions of reconciliation as outlined in the "State of Reconciliation in Australia" report by Reconciliation Australia.
