As Director, Joe is responsible for helping Blink's practitioners to build accessibility into everything they do. He also evangelizes the need for accessibility with Blink's clients and partners. Joe has been involved with digital communication development since 1984. Together with Scott Boggan and David Farkas, Joe authored two editions of the popular and pioneering book Developing Online Help for Windows. He published two editions of Developing User Assistance for Mobile Apps. He is currently working on a new book - A Practical Approach to Accessible Design. Joe is regularly involved as an instructor at the University of Washington in several departments, including the iSchool. He has also taught classes for UC Silicon Valley Extension and Bellevue College. Joe received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1981, and a M.S. in Adult Instructional Management from Loyola University in 1987. Joe served for three years as President of the STC Puget Sound Chapter and one year as Membership Director for UxPA Puget Sound. He is one of the co-organizers of the Seattle Accessibility and Inclusive Design Meetup.
