BU-TECH aimed to manufacture an affordable electronic-controlled prosthetic hand, with the vision of empowering amputees globally and facilitating their journey towards independence and control in daily activities. BIO-Technologies collaborated closely with amputees throughout the development and testing phases, incorporating their feedback to ensure the prosthetic's effectiveness in real-life scenarios. Our product, a passive functional prosthetic, provides essential functionality and closely mimics the natural body part it replaces. In addition to our prosthetic line, our technology division designs, manufactures, services, and maintains environmental control systems, further enhancing independence and safety for individuals with severe disabilities.

The undergraduate project evolved into a technical robotic startup following evaluations at national and international levels. Multiple research papers on the project have been published and presented at international conferences, marking its unique nature in Pakistan. During the incubation phase, the robotic hand was refined into an alpha product, endorsed and verified by experts including doctors, engineers, scientists, and business professionals. It has since been successfully installed on over 10 upper limb amputees and individuals born without hands, providing them with a unique and rewarding experience. The project's business plan has garnered over 15 national and international awards worldwide. Technical expertise involved includes proficiency in C++, control systems, microprocessing units, servo motors, analog to digital signal amplifiers, electrode design, product design, and user experience. Moreover, a comprehensive business model was developed based on target audience analysis, incorporating financial, marketing, presentation, communication, team management, time management, and leadership skills.
