I worked as a liaison and administrative document technician for Disability Management Resources on-site in a client building.I spent the majority of my time in this position doing QA work in a LEAN environment, ensuring medical records matched company standards and contained zero discrepancies. I would match medical records to case notes from doctors as they were received and sent to analysts for review. Additionally, I would consolidate any electronic medical files and correspondences received from different providers into single PDFs to be added to medical records as needed.This position required an immense amount of communication and a high level of attention to detail, as discrepancies could be extremely troubling if not taken care of properly. In addition to my normal duties, I also was a representative of my company in a client's building. I had to conduct multiple meetings with both parties every week to ensure everything was operating smoothly, and maintain good relationships with everyone involved as I was in the unique position of essentially working for two companies at once.This position greatly improved my organizational skills and time management and improved my analytical mindset when problem-solving, proof-reading, or looking for any errors in work. Like my previous positions, it also deepened my empathy for others, as I was constantly reading about the struggles people were facing. It was a role I took very seriously as I knew my work would directly impact people's lives and wanted to help facilitate as smooth a process for the individuals as possible.

I worked as a consultant within the digital imaging department at Best Buy; my work included staying up to date with all new camera technologies and teaching customers about the devices, industry terminology, and how to use them properly.I also spent an extensive amount of time studying and developing my skills editing in Lightroom, which improved my general knowledge of the entire Adobe Suite.A key component of my work in this positive was truly listening to customers and empathizing with their needs, picking up on key terms used, and asking the right discovery questions to find out what their base motives were-- as well as how best I could help them. Through this work, I understood better how to get to the root of a situation to begin problem-solving and ideating quickly, even in a fast-paced or hectic environment.

I spent the majority of my time in this role as a guide for people. I had to learn extensively about phone contracts, specifications, models, operating systems, user flows, and keep up to date completely on all new phone-tech related news.Firstly, I would work with a client to help them figure out their wants and needs and find a solution to fulfill those needs. I would also explain to them all contract information, any technical details of their current phone plan and help them optimize their experience with their phone service to eliminate potential pain points and increase user retention.Once the solution was selected, I would spend time walking them using their new device, any key features they should know about, and any personal recommendations I have to improve their experience. I would help them navigate the set-up user flow, answer any questions, enable any accessibility features they may need, and make sure that they were completely comfortable on their new device before we parted ways. This would sometimes involve multiple-hour long consultations with clients, which invariably led to personal bonding and helped me really learn how to empathize, communicate, and collaborate with many different kinds of people.
