Mr. V. Shankar has over four and half decades of rich industry experience including eighteen years in Unilever and eighteen years in the Tata Group. Mr. Shankar was the Managing Director and CEO of Rallis India Limited, A Tata Enterprise till 2019. During his tenure in Rallis spanning over 13 years he led Company transformation across all perspectives covering Finance, Customer, Internal Processes, People and Governance. In 2021, he was the Director–General of the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Agriculture and Farm Excellence (C-SAFE), a part of Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development, the CSR arm of Tata Chemicals.He has around 25 years of leadership experience with various leading listed companies across diverse sectors including industrials, FMCG, Seeds, Fertilisers & Crop Protection segments. Earlier he also held various positions in the Finance and Audit functions before assuming P&L responsibility and leading Companies.With his varied experience, he has contributed to sustained business value creation, turning around businesses, establishing new categories, manufacturing facilities and restructuring activities including effectively executing and integrating M&A transactions. He has successfully led teams and built talent in organisations as well as held positions in industry associations and external networks.He is the recipient of the FICCI Award 2018 for distinguished contribution to the Agrochemicals industry and has received several awards at the company level, including the Rallis JRDQV Business Excellence Award, and Porter Prize for Creating Shared Value.An active speaker at various professional and management institutes, Mr. Shankar is an alumnus of IMD Lausanne, Switzerland and a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Company Secretary as well as a Law Graduate.
