I have been practicing as an architect for more than 24 years and I have had my own practice, Val Tevlin Design, for 19 years. I carry full professional indemnity insurance.My father and grandfather were building contractors and I have been working in both design and construction environments for more than 34 years. I have learned from the knowledge and ingenuity of experienced tradesmen, whose skill and problem solving through the most improbable improvisation have inspired me to think outside the box.This unique practical experience makes me familiar and comfortable with building materials and construction methods which allows me to be more creative while remaining practical and cost effective. I studied architecture in Bolton Street and have spent my life honing my design and management skills. I also studied project management in Trinity College and Arbitration Law in UCD so that I could broaden the quality of service I provide to you.I actively explore the use of materials, colour and aesthetics. I have learned the importance of light, texture and space. These are the tools of my trade, I continually strive to master them so that I can inspire and stimulate.
