I am part of a small skilled, high performance Operations team in Equinix DB1 in Citywest, providing customer support and systems management. I have worked in 3 of the 4 Datacentres in Ireland with various duties including NOC Commander, Tape Backup Coordinator, Customer Support Technician and Infrastructure Installer. My current focus is on Sharepoint forms, documentation and workflows across the 4 sites. I am expanding into Data Analysis and Power BI.Currently my standard duties consist of • Compiling daily shift reports. • Carrying out visual site inspections and recording facilities data. • Providing Remote hands support to customers.• Planning and installing new copper and fibre circuits.• Updating procedures. • Monitoring and gathering metrics for Operations and Facilities systems. • Incident response and escalation management.• Creating and maintaining audit records for customer assets and power distribution. • Designing self-populating Circuit Design sheets, Customer Asset Analysis sheets based on Excel.• Updating Visio records for Capacity Management. I was elected as the Employee Representative on the Executive Forum dealing with the integration of Telecity into the Equinix family.I am the Audit Coordinator for our Citywest Datacentre overseeing the audit and transfer of our data records to the new systems in Equinix.I have also carried out a number of special projects including:-• Created Shift Reports for all four Irish Datacenters on Sharepoint (using InfoPath).• Created Facility Walkaround checklists on Sharepoint (using InfoPath).• Created and implemented a new Asset Delivery and store management system.• Created procedure documents and checklists.• Created power circuit and network diagrams on Visio and AutoCad.• Created Datacentre Floor Plans on Autocad.• Coordinated transfer of Customer Asset, Circuit and Power Records to new Equinix systems.

I established Val Tevlin design in 1992 and developed a broader range of specialities in Project Management, Interior Design and Furniture Design, Dispute Resolution, Renewables and Passivhaus Design.I Managed the daily operations of a small architectural practice while running multiple projects at any one time. I have extensive experience in design and site supervision on a broad range of alteration and new build projects including secondary schools, office buildings, housing schemes and one off houses. My ability to manage Design Teams was core to the success of my projects and led to a happy team as well as happy clients. I secured significant return business from satisfied clients.Construction Management: Set up bespoke structures and procedures to operate Construction Management Contracts directly through the various Works Contractors. Created dedicated Tender and Contract Documents.Communication on site improved and direct Contractor and Supplier payments encouraged greater motivation and job satisfaction and consequently quality of work. Works Contractors’ primary loyalty transfers from Main Contractor to client. Breakdown of Works into smaller packages gives greater accuracy and certainty to project budgets.Construction Dispute Resolution: Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. I have acted as Advocate for both clients and contractors to help them resolve their differences.

Joined the firm in 1984 as an Assistant Architect / CAD Operator. By 1986 I had progressed to the position of Senior Architect and from then to 1990, I was given full responsibility for a number of residential, office, commercial and school projects with contract values up to IR£1.8 million. Was appointed associate in Jan. 1990 and assumed responsibility for Irish project work.In 1991 was invited to design a significant industrial project in Westmeath and set up my own practice.
