I´m a hands-on entrepreneur, PhD researcher, and international award-winning design leader, passionate about driving cultural transformation toward a design-integrated organization. I´m also an ARBO design co-founder: a strategic design studio that supports brands to bring positive impact to the business and the consumer, generating valuable experiences through the meaning of innovation and sustainability. I generate a strategic understanding of user needs (behaviors and trends) and marry that knowledge with the goals of the business, product, and technology. Therefore, I develop and implement visual/experience brand language for companies and I enhance the customer experience. At ARBO, I have worked on 400+ launched projects and I have had clients companies such as Toshiba (Japan), Carrier (United States), Midea Group (China), United Nations (Brazil), Discovery Channel (United Kingdom), and startups.Before founding my Design consultancy, I spent 10+ years transforming consumer product industries from home appliances to automotive companies through design. I was responsible for the design of physical products and touchpoints, considering usability, look and feel, and manufacturing. I defined product architecture and features, user experience, design language & aesthetics, colors & materials, and product technologies. I worked closely and globally with strategists, researchers, engineers, and other design disciplines to shape “convergent experiences” involving physical, digital, service, and brand components. My academic involvement enriches my perspective as a designer. I have a PhD in design, focusing on technology and sustainability, and a master's degree in design, focusing on design management and innovation. I have more than 18 papers published in journals and conferences, and I participated in some book chapters. As an interdisciplinary designer, I can work in diverse organizational and teaching environments in various design domains, developing design practices that can empower the next generation of designers too.I´m a jury member at prestigious design awards worldwide, a lecturer, a visiting professor at some institutions, and a research member of the LeNS (Sustainability Learning Network). I have had my work recognized through more than 50 design awards such as A’ Design Award, IF Design Award, and Red Dot. I have approximately 20 patents to my name. Dual citizenship: Brazilian by birth and European (Italy). I´m also a permanent resident of the US.
