As an airline captain, I take pride in putting the customer first by operating safely, comfortably and on time. This is achieved by being proactive and addressing potential problems before they become a problem. Involving all crew members and encouraging open communication is key to giving customers the very best experience, this allows crew members to know that they are valued and free to both make suggestions and feel empowered to be proactive themselves. A trip assignment and its positive outcome hinge on the quality of the crew and their ability to work together all pulling in the same direction. As a pilot and flight instructor I am a gold seal instructor with a better than 90% pass rate for all students. In 2008 I signed off more pilots in the state of Kansas than any other instructor and can proudly say that my students have been successful in their career pursuits with several rising to the rank of Captain at both Part 121 and Part 135 operators. My current objective is to put international cargo operations behind me, and transition to domestic flying.
