Built the legal department from the ground up and led the establishment of the department’s website together with all key policies, contract templates and playbooks. Led multiple legal functions, including strategic alliances, licensing, supply chain management, business development and mergers and acquisitions. Responsible for the creation and development of various compliance areas, including data privacy and protection; anti-bribery; and open source. Structured and negotiated hundreds of transactions, including sales, licensing, distribution and strategic alliances. Played key role in multiple billion-dollar alliances. Oversaw the completion and integration of over 70 acquisitions. Provided the vision and leadership in the creation and implementation of many “first” online legal applications, including:• Social media website for lawyers• Online compliance training on various topics • Online signature approval and click-to-accept agreements• Online intake, tracking and approval of open source code usage• Contract and knowledge management systemServed on Cisco’s Communication and Collaboration Board. Helped establish and lead Cisco’s first Global Compliance Governance Committee whose mission is to ensure common understanding of company’s objectives, address compliance gaps and provide assistance, as necessary, to allow the company’s business to move forward and accelerate while still complying with the law. Served as executive sponsor and leader for Cisco’s first major initiative to get more girls interested in STEM. Was instrumental in funding, designing, building and launching an awareness campaign around the lack of women in STEM and the need to build a pipeline. Helped establish and served on Cisco’s Inclusion and Diversity Council.
