Analyze and recommend stocks in the financial sector: banks, insurance, capital markets, exchanges, consumer finance, thrifts, mortgages, and REITS.

Harris Mullan was a start-up business providing cash collateral to bonded contractors for a fee; investor funds would be pooled and then invested in a variety of construction projects for an attractive return. Responsibilities included developing the new company’s business and marketing plan, finding suitable candidates for HM’s advisory board, attracting accredited and institutional investors and implementing strict financial controls.

Analyzed and recommended stocks in the financial sector (approximately $200 million of equity holdings at market peak): banks, insurance, capital markets, exchanges, consumer finance, thrifts, mortgages, and GSEs. Effectively communicated ideas to institutional and personal trust portfolio managers through detailed written reports and oral communication. Presented industry analyses to M&T Senior Management, high net worth clients, and regional bank conferences.

Established new voting guidelines and implemented special procedures to address the special needs of Taft-Hartley clients.
