I have always loved exploring and learning about the world around me. The natural sciences fascinated me from a young age, which led to a B.Sc. in Geology, work in the mineral exploration industry, and graduate school. In my graduate work, I embraced the opportunity to dive into research, teaching, analytical work, and mentoring. I pursued my passion for studying meteorites, which presented a fantastic breadth of technical and research experience in geochemistry and mineralogy. I next moved on to something else I love: science education and public outreach. I did this through my work at the TELUS World of Science Edmonton and the Edmonton Public Library, developing and sharing STEM programming with the public, where I came to really understand the value of working in a collaborative and respectful workplace. I love working in the public sector, especially in my new role as Library Services Coordinator at the Stanley A. Milner Library. Now I get to focus on project management, staff development, workflow optimization, and working as part of a collaborative Management Team. It's amazing how many of my industry and academic skills I get to utilize in this rewarding setting.
