For the last two decades, I have been involved in International Development, Responsible Mining and Missions, respectively. Across the resources industry, international cooperation and the not-for-profit sector (including emergency response). I obtained a bachelor degree in International Development from La Trobe University in 2013; since then, I have worked and volunteered for several organisations in international aid, community development and international cooperation - managing and analysing data, translating research documents, co-managing consultancy projects, grant applications and supporting the management of major grants. I am currently working with OM in Australia, cultivating strong relationships with donors and partners to support vital aid and crisis response initiatives. Leading reporting and compliance processes, ensuring effective channels for contributions to our aid and relief programs.I have worked with Community Works as International Development Associate, World Vision Australia as Field Impact Coordinator, DT Global/Cardno International Development as Project Officer, supporting the management of grants and deployment of advisers for the Indo-Pacific Health Security Initiative (HSI), Vanuatu Health Program (VHP), the Economic & Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP) in Papua New Guinea and several other programs funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and managed by DT Global in Southeast Asia, the Pacific and Africa. My experience in mining dates back to the early 2000s. I worked for two major mining projects in Peru, Antamina and Alto Chicama (Lagunas Norte Mine). In Antamina, I worked with the Maintenance Services and Mine Maintenance Teams and in Barrick, with multidisciplinary teams during the exploration, feasibility, consultation, construction and start up of operations of the mine. I started working with the Explorations Regional Manager organising travel and translating reports. Later on, I joined the Community Relations, Mine Maintenance, Environment and Health and Safety (Loss Control) areas respectively, providing sound administrative assistance to the management team. I worked with different stakeholders, supported the consultation process with hosting communities and land acquisition final negotiations; addressed grievances and concerns building trust in the area of direct and indirect influence, which contributed to win the social license to operate. Lagunas Norte mine in Peru achieved start-up ahead of the original third-quarter schedule and within its US$340 million budget.
