During my 4+ year tenure as the Global Head of Regulatory Compliance Operations, I led 450 personnel across five countries tasked with delivering best practice compliance services to HSBC and regulators worldwide. I directed and ensured governance, reporting, capacity, risk management, and deployment of major technology changes within operations. My contributions included:◆ Delivering $20M savings by optimising processes and migrating work activities to low-cost locations by effectively partnering with all lines of business.◆ Developing and executing an off-shoring / outsourcing programme that process reengineered and built Centres of Excellence—including supporting quality, training, MI and analytics, and AI chat bot utilities—which consistently exceed minimal SLA standards. These Centres of Excellence aligned with compliance best standards and enabled us to migrate 25% of compliance work activity from high- to low-cost countries.◆ Successfully establishing an offshore team of 450 FTE that delivers 26 global compliance services including substantial shareholding disclosures, trade surveillance, personal account dealing, regulatory developments, and more.

I delivered AML Deferred Prosecution Agreement programmes to include setting up PMO, RAIDs, benefits, and all governance. My contributions included:◆Improving financial crime alert investigation quality levels more than 10% by setting up offshore training and quality assurance utility.◆Designing, delivering, and implementing a new COO/IT change compliance operating model to support significant scaling of HSBC regulatory programmes in relation to the $10bn fine.

I led an organisational effectiveness programme that restructured the company’s global operating model across 52 countries and reduced management layers from 15+ layers to 8 layers from the CEO-level down. My contribution significantly reduced operating costs and organisational complexity.

I led a Transformation Programme—managing a $14M budget—to deliver leadership programmes to cultural change needed during recovery from the global financial crisis. I successfully deployed the HSBC apprenticeship scheme, new performance and reward policies, and numerous people experience initiatives, which delivered a business benefit of approximately $15M.
