As a consultant, managed all aspects of branding, packaging and marketing collateral design for the launch of a new bean-to-bar chocolate maker in Yallingup, in the heart of the Margaret River wine region. Achieved wide and consistent media coverage in national and WA-based food and lifestyle media. Established and maintained social media presence. Ad hoc continued support provided to present day.

For four years I was Head of Press and Public Affairs at the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong, a position demanding regular media engagement as official spokesperson of the British Government as well as longer-term strategic communication planning. I handled complex and often sensitive political, education, investment and trade, tourism, cultural, scientific, consular and passport issues. This involved extensive online and print writing, editing and publishing, and frequently, high-profile event management and project management skills. I provided regular in-house media and crisis management training, and enjoyed creating bespoke advertising and marketing products from conception to production. The role demanded a focus on simplified, clear language and messages for Chinese translation and speakers of English as a second language.
