As a school Speech Pathologist my aim is to ensure that student's with communication difficulties are able to access the curriculum content and fulfil their goal's at school. This includes assessment, therapy, strategies provided to school staff & assessments for possible VCE exemption requirement. Also, I aim to ensure that school staff feel supported with teaching students that have communication difficulties which is delivered using a capacity building approach. My current areas of focus include; improving oral language & phonological awareness skills in the early years and vocabulary development in the later years. I believe that social communication skills are integral for a positive experience at school therefore pragmatics/social skills group is another area that I have been focussing on.

At National360 I provided speech pathology services within the home, in clinic and Telehealth with majority of NDIS clients. My clients ranged from 2-99 years old. I provided high quality assessment and therapy services to clients and their families across the range indicators - fluency, speech, oral language, AAC and swallowing/mealtime management. I possess excellent time management & organisational skills to ensure both client facing and administrative work were carried out and KPI's met. As a senior Speech Pathologist I had the capacity for a complex client caseload. I enjoyed working in the multi-disciplinary environment to ensure a holistic approach to support clients communication skills. My role included supervising 3 graduate speech pathologists with clinical work. My aim as a supervisor is to ensure supervisee's reach their own career goals in a supportive and positive environment.

Training in parent coaching using video feedback of my sessions enabled significant growth in my craft as a speech pathologist.

As a school Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) I provided services to several schools and Early Childhood Development (ECDP) centres. Evidence based assessment and therapy intervention was delivered in individual, small group and whole class settings. Strategies and capacity building were provided to school staff to ensure students of all communication skills had access to the curriculum content. Data collection and interpretation to decide on best approaches in each school's setting were a major part of the role.
