My name is Vanessa Quinn, and I am a 3rd year pharmacy student at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. I am originally from West Palm Beach, FL, and I completed my undergraduate studies at Florida State University with a degree in Biology. My career interests are vast, as I am interested in pursuing ambulatory care or psychiatric pharmacy post-graduation.At the College of Pharmacy, I am involved in the Student National Pharmaceutical Association where I currently serve as the vice president, and previously as the mental health officer. Also, I am the treasurer for the UF COP Student Council, a substance use disorder chair for APhA-ASP, and a teaching assistant for the 2nd year's skills lab course. My time in these organizations has taught me a diverse set of skills including how to advocate and be a mentor for others, how to adapt in a variety of situations, and has strengthened my empathy and compassion for my community.Over the last 4 years, I have worked as a pharmacy technician at Walgreen's pharmacy and UF Health Psychiatric Hospital. These positions in both retail and hospital pharmacy have furthered my passion this profession, and I am eager to continue growing as a pharmacy student and as a person. These experiences have allowed me to demonstrate my individual, team-based, and leadership capabilities.
