Vanessa is a former professional model. She is the Founder and Board President of Queen Nefertiti Productions Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that produces Ubuntu Pageants International, Miss Black Ohio USA Scholarship Pageant, Miss Black Ohio USA Talented Teen Pageant, Ms. Black Ohio USA Pageant, Hope Journey Pageants USA & Canada, Teen Universe Ohio Pageant and the Ohio American Royal Miss Pageant. She began directing pageants in 2003. Vanessa is also a Wedding Officiant.Vanessa is one of the first recipients of the Jewel Award, presented by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Columbus Chapter and appears in multiple editions of Who's Who in Black Columbus for exemplary community service in the performing arts for the work she has done with her pageants and for my entrepreneurial skills in her pageant ownership. She has also received recognition for the work she does in the community by local and state government officials. She was selected as one of the Urban One Columbus Future History Makers. and as one of the Medical Mutual Outstanding Senior Volunteers for 2023.Vanessa became a published #1 Best Selling Author "God Says I'm Battle-Scar Free: Testimonies of Abuse Survivors - Part 3". The book, in which she is a Co-Author, is published by Pearly Gates Publishing LLC and is a compilation of testimonies to help other survivors and victims of abuse heal...to be the voices of those without voices...and to raise awareness of this growing epidemic. She is also included as a Contributing Author in Part 4, which is an International Best-Seller. She also contributed another testimony in Part 5, released in the Spring of 2019.Vanessa received an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Columbus Business University in 1983 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from Oakland City University in 2000. She has also taken classes toward earning a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration. Vanessa also competes in pageants and has won several local, state, regional, national and international titles and assists others in preparing for pageant competitions.
