I’m Vanessa, a senior at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Information Systems and Computer Science, and I’m seeking Software Engineer internships for Summer 2025. I am a problem-solver passionate about learning and leveraging my skills to develop products and technologies that better people's lives.Throughout my coursework at CMU, I’ve had the opportunity to learn and implement interesting frameworks. In past course projects, I experimented with three different list structures (implicit, explicit, and segregated) to maximize the performance (utilization and throughput) of a dynamic storage allocator for C programs, and applied concepts of socket programming, multi-threading, and caching to create a proxy web serve that fulfills HTTP client requests.This summer, as a Software Engineer intern at Jtron Technology, I helped develop an edge-computing platform that collects the sensor and system log information, leveraging the interfacing and computing capabilities of Raspberry Pi. To maintain a high code quality, I engaged in the procedures of unit testing, code reviewing, and version controlling with git to achieve >90% code coverage with MSTest. To enhance the company’s DevOps practices, I assisted with setting up the team’s GitLab repositories’ CI/CD procedures, which I further integrated with Docker to ensure platform compatibility.As I continue my studies at CMU and prepare to enter the industry as a Software Engineer, I hope to learn, grow, and work with others to innovate products and technologies that positively impact the community.To achieve this goal, I seek opportunities to practice and expand my skills to engineer novel solutions as a Software Engineer intern in Summer 2025.
