As a Senior Technical Writer for Xenial, I create and edit documentation for internal and external consumption. Our team uses a browser-based authoring tool for our topic-based writing, but I am intimately familiar with markup languages such as XML, HTML, DocBook, Markdown, and LaTeX. Additional office and creative products include: MS Office, JIRA, Wrike, SnagIt, and Adobe Creative Suite products such as PhotoShop and Illustrator. I collaborate daily with product managers, business analysts, developers, QA/QC, and other subject matter experts to determine use cases, product flow, UI/UX, terminology, and documentation needs for reference, training, and sales purposes. Document types include but are not limited to, job aids, quick-start guides, tool tips, installation instructions, release notes, developer resources--such as API details, and our online user documentation. I am also responsible for our daily release notes publication (https://www.xenial.com/release-notes) and our product documentation publication (https://www.xenial.com/product-documentation). For our internal team, I handle documentation structuring and publication cadences, update pdf output to match our style, and customize our website content through CSS. I use Adobe products for image manipulation--required for annotations or other design purposes. I also occasionally present at all-hands meetings.In 2022, I worked with our development team and webmaster to implement user authentication for our Developer Resources website, allowing our team to provide clients with proprietary API documentation in a faster and more secure manner.In 2023, I provided full documentation for two new products.

Utilized classic ASP/.NET technologies to enhance and modify existing on premise software (Visual Studio: C#/HTML/CSS/JavaScript/VB). Design/develop additional module for use on hand-held scanners (Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5) which enables inventory modification. Modify existing reports and craft new ones (Report Builder 2.0).

Handled automobile loans in default from 10 - 120 days. Used extensive research analysis to either resolve a defaulted account or issue a request for the repossession of the vehicle. Also handled third-party collections for a variety of clients. Assisted with new-hire training and the deployment of new software.

Softlines manager, handling the footwear and apparel departments. Responsible for hiring and training employees. Also responsible for handling inventory, seasonal floor moves, assisting other departments (including approval of hunting/fishing licenses, overseeing gun license applications, tennis racket restringing, and bowling ball drilling), customer service and cash office. I also participated with the opening of three new locations. This required me to spend several days/weeks out of town to assist with training of new employees, building and placing shelving and racks for merchandise, receiving and stocking merchandise, and assisting celebrity guests at grand opening events.While working with both new and seasoned employees, I enjoyed cultivating a sense of community within our departments by using inclusive methods of product education and teamwork. This feeling of community flowed over into other departments and eventually our entire store was on board. I believe this sense of community enabled us to increase our sales which in turn increased our profit and brought our location to the top of the district.
