Innovating creative healthcare solutions to meet a vast number of unmet clinical needs is my primary ambition as a biomedical engineer. Currently, treatment options for many life-threatening conditions such as cancer, diabetes, cardiac and lung diseases are often limited to slowing disease progression or managing symptoms. I am passionate about developing modern biotechnology to improve the treatment landscape for these leading causes of mortality in the US. Throughout my academic career, my research interests and elective courses have been focused on tissue engineering, biomaterials, and disease modeling with 2D and 3D cell culture with the aim of better understanding disease mechanisms. I’m excited about the potential the biomedical engineering field offers today and am eager to be an active contributor to these impactful feats. Additional interests outside of engineering include sustainability and environmental advocacy, initiatives towards encouraging young women and people of color in STEM, outdoor pursuits, painting and culinary activities.
Listed skills include Python, Microsoft Office, Solidworks, Computer Aided Design, and 4 others.
