As Executive Director I was responsible for sustaining Promise Place as a reputable, thriving organization. I worked collaboratively with our organization's staff, board, community advocates and leaders, other civil rights and community based organizations to ensure the achievement of Promise Place's mission through successful implementation of our programs, fundraising initiatives, and strategic plan. Responsibilities included:Overseeing crisis intervention services and all operations of a domestic violence shelter program with satellite locations in four counties.Creating and implementing an annual fundraising plan to meet budgetary goals. Balancing budget and preparing monthly financial statements with budget forecasts for the Board of Directors.Fundraising through writing grants and securing donations from corporations, State, Federal and local government, individuals and other diverse sources to fund programs.Creating and recommending the fiscal year budgetOverseeing the preparation of reports according to timelines i.e. monthly Board report, quarterly and end of year statistical reports, community and grant reports.Coordinating and participating in speaking presentations regarding issues of domestic violence, program needs and shelter needs to community individuals, groups, agencies and media.Ensuring agency is in compliance with policies, procedures, and grant (local, state and federal) regulations.
