I oversee a group of reporters and editors working remotely across the country that drives tens of millions of page views to McClatchy's 30 newsrooms. We're focused providing stories readers can't get elsewhere, whether that be explaining how the day's news affects them, or telling them about an animal previously thought extinct being discovered, or an important court case or scientific study. We have honed ourselves to anticipate what readers will want to know and answer those questions for them. We use trending tool, analytics, social media and our own curiosity in making these decisions.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

I was the senior editor for the McClatchy News Network's real-time team, a nation and world news service that appears on the websites of all 29 McClatchy newsrooms. I handle breaking news, posting stories and updates as quickly as they are available, while searching for photos, videos, and social media content to further engage the viewer.

Charlotte, North Carolina

I was a universal editor for three newspapers and their websites -- The Charlotte Observer, The (Raleigh) News & Observer and The (Rock Hill, S.C.) Herald. I was regularly the lead person on the copy desk -- meaning I kept track of every news story for three papers. I made sure they arrived on time, then assigned them to copy editors and made sure the copy editors and designers made their deadlines. I then approve the stories and the pages before they are published -- all while dealing with multiple senior editors in three cities.

Paris, France

I edited several educational applications for the iPad -- including science, reading, math and English. I first made sure the work of the writers was grammatically correct, succinct and easy to understand, then made sure the answers were correct.
